Russell Ingall and Paul Morris's YouTube channel is continuing to grow with the two uncompromisingly honest former racers have built a steady channel on the backbone of being brutally honest and talking about issues with the sport no one else wants to, In this episode Russell pays a visit to the Stone Brothers to get reacquainted with his championship Falcon as it begins a full restoration. Working on the #WannaBeRacer XF lately has been made even more pleasant with watching
While we are all under house arrest I thought it was better time then ever to share a quick before and after of the #WannaBeRacer XF Falcon, Its hard to believe I've owned it for 15 years now and its finally looking the way I had in-visioned all these years, Once the world returns to normal I so look forward to using it for what it was built for, Attacking the track!
Here it is our very first Vlog, we took the #WannaBeRacer XF racing at the Geelong Revival and even came home with a 2nd place in our class. Check out all the antics of the weekend and let us know what you think!
So I've decided along with the LetLooseRacing.com Blog posts that I do on my race car build and racing journey (#WANNABERACER) i'm also gonna give making my own vlog's a shot, I have been thinking about this for a while and even put the question out there and received a lot of feedback to do it, not only is this a great way to help show my journey onto the track its a great way to help promote current and future sponsors and none the less I get to keep these memories for good
Vlogging is something I tend to be thinking about more and more of late, do people really wanna see me and the XF in vlogs? Truthfully I have no idea but I know I enjoy watching others vlog there Motorsport life so maybe I should show my journey? and as a bonus you get to keep those memories on film, so who knows i'm pretty 50-50 about it at the moment but you may see the #WannaBeRacer blog start soon let us know what you think, for now I thought we'd share some of the vlogs
About a month ago I was talking to Mike Burroughs the owner and creator of StanceWorks.com I was asking him about some tips on running a site like his and on how to keep on growing Let Loose Racing, I didn't expect him to reply but what he did reply shocked me even more "I would LOVE to feature your race car, That thing is amazing". A big part of me thought this is way to good to be true, see StanceWorks is a car culture site that I have religiously checked on weekly to see t
Building a house has seriously impacted my race car building funds and to be honest i've seriously made stuff all progress on the XF lately and its eating away at me, nearly every penny I earn atm goes towards my home loan, but hopefully over the next 2 months I can cut back on the savings and start spending on the race car again. One of the main areas needing a cash influx is the rear end as its relatively been untouched back there for 25 years, the only thing I have done is
We've never been to a Fitted Festival event or really heard to much about them before, but when I seen the promo video with Mad Mike and see the fact it is going to be held at Melbourne International Airport well that had our attention and after diving a little deeper and looking into the event we realised it was something we want to be involved in so on the 9th of Feb the #WannaBeRacer will be on display at Fitted Festival so make sure you all come on down and check the even
At the beginning of this year we had one serious goal we wanted to reach 10,000 followers on Facebook, and in little over 11 month we reached our goal and its all because of you our loyal fans and followers, so with that being said thank you all so much 2018 was epic for us we got the #WannaBeRacer semi done, we attended our first big event under the Let Loose banner and we secured our very first sponsor at said event. With all that we are now even more excited for 2019, a'lo
I knew that the look I was going for with the XF would attract some attention but I couldn't have believed in my wildest dreams that it would get half the attention that it does, while at World Time Attack I was talking to people on the Raceworks stand when I had noticed that the attention of the people I was talking to had changed from me to someone next to my car, little did I know it was Dick Johnson and he was checking out the #WannaBeRacer Falcon, I rather nervously intr
The last couple of months have been hektik! So I thought i'd give everyone a bit of an update on where were at with the car and what our immediate plans are. First off i'll start by saying we have chosen a target date to shakedown the car and that will be march 16th at Sandown Raceway, I would have loved to get it out sometime this year but I made a silly decision and decided to buy a house so thats hurt the bank a tad, so this will give us plenty of time to get money in orde
I still cant believe we made it to Motor Ex, we had talked about entering Motor Ex for passed 6 or so months but the biggest factor always was can we get the XF into a state that was showable, to complete all the body work and paint in time for the show was not an easy task but we managed and the result is a pretty good one, the car is looking exactly how I had visioned for so long and yet after the weekend i've found so much more I want to add to it. There was supposed to be
So i'm gonna start this blog post off by letting you all know Let Loose Racing will be at Motor Ex on the 26th and 27th of May but ill fill you in on that at the end of this blog post. One thing i've been looking at for a while with the XF is adding a little bit of aero to the big square falcon, now I don't want to do anything to out there its not a World Time Attack Car it doesn't need to have a rear spoiler the size of a pool table or a F1 wing mounted a metre in front of t
Earlier this year we pondered the idea of if we could get the #WannaBeRacer XF to this years Meguiars MotorEx show at the Melbourne show grounds, it would not be easy but we thought hey lets give it a shot. The car its self if it does make it wont be fully complete but will look pretty complete, in a way it would be our way of introducing Let Loose Racing to the automotive world and letting everyone see what we are about. So who knows you might see us there (fingers crossed)!
At one point I had an XR6 Turbo engine for this build but something about it never quite had we fully committed to it, I've always been a V8 fan and I really wanted to build one for this so I sold off my Barra turbo setup and sourced this! A 2001 series 3 AU XR8 roller cam Windsor, it came out of a falcon with 120,000 km's on it and it looks to have had a fairly easy life, I really wanted a late model Windsor as the later Tickford engines had the best flowing OEM cylinder hea
Building a race car is something that I have dreamed about for as long as I could remember, nearly every weekend I'm watching motorsport whether it's on TV or down at our local tracks. Unfortunately, apart from a little bit of karting in my early 20's I never quite got myself a drive and didn't quite know how to either. A couple years ago I conceded that being a professional driver is probably not in my foreseeable future but I still wanted to have some fun out on the race tr
